A child with ten dollars and six people to buy for has a real problem to solve. With the right price points, it works out.
Start with who is on the list
Write the names first: Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, a brother or sister, maybe a teacher. Six people on $10 is under $2 each, so the shop needs plenty of gifts at $1 to $2.
Gifts that say who they are for
Children like a gift that names the person. Pens, magnets, key chains and mugs for Mom, Dad, Grandma and Grandpa are some of the lowest-priced gifts we carry, and the ones young shoppers pick first.
For brothers and sisters
Small toys do the job: see brother gifts, sister gifts and gifts for boys and girls.
For the teacher, the aunt and the dog
If there is money left: teacher gifts, aunt gifts, uncle gifts and gifts for pets.
A tip for the adults
If you are stocking a school shop, put the $1 and $2 gifts at child height and group them by person. A child who can see "Grandma" on a sign finds the gift without help.
